Cindy Delaney, student account representative, was awarded Nebraska Wesleyan's CORE Award at the April staff meeting.

The CORE Award recognizes a staff member whose efforts and contributions significantly exceed expectations in demonstrating or promoting one or more of those values: excellence, liberal arts, and personal attention to students, diversity, community, and stewardship.

Delaney recently took on additional responsibilities as the supervisor of Nebraska Wesleyan's mailroom. "Cindy took this responsibility with grace, and her organizational and customer service skills are unparalleled," said Tish Gade-Jones, vice president for finance and administration. "She is a positive role model and regularly has a smile on her face."

Delaney is known for going above and beyond to mentor and support students, "Cindy supervises nine students - that requires a lot of oversight and pre-planning," stated Gade-Jones. "Cindy started a fun challenge where she asks students to fill out their timesheet on a weekly basis. After six weeks, whichever students have turned their timesheets in correctly, and on-time, receive homemade baked goods from Cindy."

She embodies NWU's values of excellence, personal attention to students, community and stewardship. Thank you for all that you do, Cindy!
